SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Shadow Line Press is a small, independent company that publishes well-written, quality books in a variety of genres within the thriller, mystery, and suspense categories. Most of our authors do not have agents. Being a small press, we can't guarantee your book will be picked up by the major chains or independent bookstores. Generally, the only way for a new author to get their new book in a store is to have a book signing there. Unless you are willing to have 50 to 100 signings during your first year, there is little likelihood that your book will be successful. Therefore, please don't submit your work to us unless you are willing to make this commitment. Shadow Lines Press affords its authors the opportunity to get published, but their success will depend mainly on their own efforts. If you have an completed novel or non-fiction manuscript, 40,000 to 100,000 words, that falls into one of our preferred genres, then we invite you to submit your work:
Submissions should be made via e-mail and should follow
these guidelines:
Within the body of the e-mail
include:
Author's name and brief
biography, including any previous publishing credits
Please note that we accept only WORD documents as
attachments to the submission e-mail. Do not send query letters, proposals, or partial manuscripts. The review process takes approximately 120 days.
You will receive a response within 120 days of
receipt of the initial submission. Do not contact Shadow Line Press during the review process.
Submissions not conforming to these guidelines will not be considered
for publication by Shadow Line Press.
